About Us

Hi there.  First – Adrienne and Nixon are our pseudonyms.  We decided to remain anonymous (for the time being) since one of our dreams is to quit our day jobs.  We’ll talk more about our dreams in a bit.

Adrienne:  I’m nearly 33 years old and desperately planning my escape from the daily cubicle.  I’ve been working as a “Rocket Scientist” for around 6 years now.  I tried to conform – I really did.  Because my mom said so, because everyone else I knew bought into the whole “go to school, get a career, work your ass off, retire”,  because I just didn’t know better.  Well… I don’t buy it anymore.  In fact, I have to say – I don’t really buy into the whole system anymore.  Meaning – doing what everyone else says you should do to be happy.  There has to be a better way.  That is where the idea of this blog came from.  I knew I needed to change my life and why not blog about it to not only keep me motivated and in check – but also to help all those others out there who are suffering the same Daily Cubicle fate.

Nixon:  I graduated from college with a degree in business marketing nearly a decade ago and have spent a better part of the last 9 years drowning in the Daily Cubicle.  For years, I have been content to suffer silently inside my 8×12 prison and slowly decompose alongside the remainder of the working class in exchange for the deceptive comfort one receives from a bi-weekly paycheck.  This isn’t just the Sunday evening blues anymore.  The emptiness I feel when faced with the reality that another 40 hours of my life will be raped from me as it is neatly spread out over the next five days must be similar to what a person feels when staring down the angry barrels of a firing squad.  If this vicious cycle must continue in the same fashion for the next 40 years, then I’d rather they just aim for crotch and fire away.

From both of us: Okay, so now that you know a bit more about us… here is our plan.  We both have a bunch of dreams/goals that we want to make happen.  It’s tough when you work 40 hours a week to work on those dreams.  But, we’ve fortunately found a way to pursue a few of them while we are still working for The Man.  However, our first big dream it to quit our day jobs and find a way to make all our dreams happen.  We will be continually updating our site with our progress.  We may succeed, we may fail.  And we don’t care either way.  As long as we are living outside those cubicle walls and enjoying life.  And since we’re anonymous (for now) – no holds barred.  Get ready for some juicy stories from our cube jobs.

We hope you enjoy following our journey from The Daily Cubicle to Living Life.  We can’t wait to share the adventure!
